Was tired of hearing how Daniel Jones is the god so I decided to take a look at his play against the bucs. NFL.com has a video of all of his throws.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWY2RaVPze0

For his first start he played very well.  He did a good job manuevering in the pocket and he seems very calm under pressure.  A few things no one seems to be talking about.
  • He turned the ball once, but should have had 3 turnovers
  • 80 of his yards came on a catch and run touchdown by Engram
  • He looks much more comfortable throwing against man than throwing against zone.  You saw a ton of completions on drag routes
  • Many of his receivers were wide open
Net-Net: I expect his performance to decline significantly.  He may do fine against the redskins defense, but the Vikings, Pats, Lions, and Cowboys are going to be difficult for him.

Daniel Jones was coached by the best QB coach in the history of the sport.

He will be very mechanically sound and he'll have a good understanding of an offense, but you can take away his strengths by forcing him to read zone coverages from inside the pocket.

There wasn't any non-preseason tape on him for defensive coordinators to look at.

They'll start making him uncomfortable soon.

FTR, I think he can be a very good game manager type in this league.  I thought it was a very smart pick by the Giants.  But he is certainly limited as a thrower and opponents will attack him sooner than later.
He shook my hand breed tub and walked away

Jones plays a slightly better defense and throws 2 interceptions.

Lets see what he does against The Vikings and then on a short week against the Patriots

Good thing about tonight, either the Pats lose or Daniel Jones gets excrement all over by a real defense.

Not watch the Pats win 47-46 in a shootout.

People have been wetting themselves over how good the Patriots D is, and it is good, but look at the offenses they've face this year. Pittsburgh, Jets, Miami, Buffalo and Washington.

Fair point.  Jones hasn't beaten a decent defense either.

Hopefully the Pats lose 7-6 and both QBs tear their assholes on a pylon.  Then Eli Manning comes in for a game-winning drive in the 4th just to freak with the franchise.

As annoying as the hype would be, I have no choice but to root for Daniel Jones.

I'm hoping for a defensive struggle with many injuries.  Final score- Giants 2, Pats-0 on a game ending safety sack of Brady that ends his season.  Not too much to ask.
